Ex-Mamtek CEO Back in Missouri

The ex-Mamtek CEO has been brought back to face a Randolph County judge.Bruce Cole is charged with felony theft and securities fraud after he was accused of using Moberly bond money meant for the artificial sweetener plant to stop foreclosure on his California home.He was brought to the Randolph County Jail just before 6 a.m. Saturday morning, Sheriff Mark Nichols tells ABC 17 News.Cole was charged in September after an investigation by the State of Missouri and the Securities and Exchange Commission. He had been fighting extradition from Orange County, California since his arrest.Mamtek got millions in bond money from Moberly under the assumption it would build and operate an sucralose plant off Highway 63 in 2010. But by September 2011, construction on the plant had stopped and the company had missed it’s first bond payment.No court date had been set for Cole as of Saturday night.
