Cops Search for Shooting Suspect
Columbia police have announced they are searching for a suspect in connection with a Tuesday shooting int he city.Cops are searching for 20-year-old Rashard Lee Bigham, who they believe was involved in a shooting on West Sugar Tree Lane. He is wanted on charges of first degree assault and armed criminal action. Bigham is described as a black male, 5’10”, 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Police believe he is armed and dangerous.A 17-year-old male suffered non-life threatening injuries in the shooting. Police also say a home was hit multiple times by bullets.Police do not know if this shooting and one on Blue Ridge Road on Tuesday are related. They do believe there are more suspects, but as of right now, Bigham is the only suspect named.”The information that we’re receiving at this point is that we don’t know if they’re connected,” said Columbia police spokesperson Latisha Stroer. “We have nothing to connect the two shootings yet.”Officers at one of the crime scenes Tuesday told ABC 17 News crews that this violence will likely continue until more is done to stop it.Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers anonymously at 573-875-TIPS.
