Cops Interrupt Car Parts Thieves
***UPDATE WEDNESDAY 7 P.M.***Jefferson City police arrested 35-year-old Ryan Blackburn for trying to steal catalytic converters from cars at Corwin Honda.***UPDATE WEDNESDAY 8:12 A.M.***Jefferson City police say they’ve arrested the second suspect overnight. They have yet to release the suspect’s name.***ORIGINAL STORY TUESDAY***Jefferson City police arrested a Holts Summit man after he was found allegedly stealing catalytic converters from cars.Officers responded to Corwin Honda on Missouri Boulevard around 3 a.m. Tuesday and found two subjects trying to steal catalytic converters off vehicles. The subjects fled on foot to a getaway vehicle and left the scene.Cops then found the subjects’ vehicles crashed near the intersection of Missouri Boulevard and South Country Club Drive. Police located 54-year-old Michael A. Rogers in the brush, but the second suspect escaped.Rogers was arrested on charges of second degree tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident. He is currently in the Cole County Jail.
