Co-Worker Pleads Guilty to Scam

A Columbia woman who stole tens of thousands of dollars from a disabled co-worker is going to prison.Deanna Harris pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of exploiting a disabled person. Three other charges were dropped.Police say Harris asked the woman for money last year so she could buy her friend a soda, and she later claimed it made her sick.Harris ended up scamming the woman out of nearly $30,000. She was arrested again in July after showing up late for her trial.Her sentencing is set for late November.
