Car Catches Fire After Crash

A fiery two car crash on U.S. 63 northbound near Highway NN closed that road for more than an hour Sunday night.Highway Patrol told ABC 17 News at the scene that the driver of a Dodge Neon was driving excessively fast and following a pickup truck. When the Dodge’s driver looked down at his cell phone, his car slammed into the back of the truck and burst into flames.Everyone involved in the crash walked away without serious injury. But the flames and debris stopped traffic in the northbound lanes for more than an hour.As an ABC 17 News crew left the scene just before 11 p.m., only one lane was open and only periodically.Troopers said the driver of the Dodge Neon would be cited for careless and imprudent driving.
