Burning Leaves Blamed for Fire
A Sunrise Beach home is considered a total loss after burning leaves got out of control Friday morning and spread to the home.According to a news release one Weems Drive resident was inside trying to put the fire out and suffered burns to the face. That resident was still being treated Saturday.Sunrise Beach crews were originally dispatched around 10:20 a.m. Friday for a natural cover fire caused by burning leaves, but when they got on scene the fire had spread to the home and was threatening power lines.This is the second fire caused by burning leaves in one week in Sunrise Beach.
