Bank Robber on the Loose

Callaway County Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for a bank robber who took money from Bank Star 1 in New Bloomfield Saturday morning. Investigations say it happened around 9:18 A.M. and the suspect told the teller to put money into a plastic bag and left the bank calmly, according to the sheriff’s department’s news release. The suspect is believed to be a black man in his late 30’s to early 40’s.He is described as clean shaven, with short cropped hair, and wearing white tennis shoes, dark joggin pants with a white stripe down the side and a light colored t-shirt under a black jacket and sunglasses at the time of the robbery. The suspect was reported last seen running across highway to Old 54 heading north on Old 54.
