Bank by the Lake Closes for Good

A bank near the Lake of the Ozarks was permanently shutdown, according to federal regulators late Friday afternoon.FDIC officials said the Community Bank of the Ozarks in Sunrise Beach will transfer owners. On Saturday, both branches will reopen under a new name, as Bank of Sullivan.The agency also reassured customers their accounts should operate normally. Online banking was still available as of late Friday.The cost to the FDIC is roughly $10 million. So far, four Missouri banks have failed in 2012. The latest was the Excel Bank in Sedalia back in October.
