Accused Killer Released

Susan Van Note posted a $1 million bond Thursday in Boone County. It was a cash-only bond, meaning Van Note posted the entire $1 million upfront.Van Note is charged with murder and forgery in the death of her father, William Van Note. Susan is accused of shooting her father and his girlfriend at their lake home in 2010. William Van Note survived the shooting, and was taken to a hospital in Boone County. Investigators say Susan forged her father’s signature on documents that took him off life support. He died a few days later.
