3 arrested, 5 suspended
ABC 17 News has confirmed three University of Missouri football players have been arrested on marijuana charges. Wide receivers Dorial Green-Beckham and Levi Copelin and linebacker Tory Boozer were arrested just before midnight Wednesday for possession of marijuana. Police noticed five individuals sitting in a white Lincoln Navigator in Lot G, near Memorial Stadium. After officers made contact with the individuals, they smelled marijuana in the vehicle. The three players were arrested for possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana. MU officials have confirmed the three players will be suspended for one game. Spokesman Chad Moller released the following statement: “We’re aware of the incident and have addressed it. All individuals involved have been immediately suspended from the program for one game. All other disciplinary measures will be handled internally, and there will be no further comment.” Two MU red-shirt freshmen, Harold Brantley and Brandon Hollifield, were not arrested but are suspended.
