10/23: Morning Soaking

Showers and t-storms developed in southwest Missouri late Monday night and pushed through Mid-Missouri Tuesday morning. Sedalia received nearly three inches of rain, while areas farther east picked up between .25″ to 1″ of rain. The rain was caused by a combination of an upper-air disturbance and warm, moist air pushing into the region. For these reasons, there won’t be a noticeable change in temperature behind Tuesday morning’s rain.Much of Mid-Missouri is still in severe drought, so any additional rainfall is needed, and can help improve drought conditions.
