10/20: Orionid Meteor Shower

The Orionid meteor shower will peak this weekend across Mid-Missouri, especially late Saturday night through early Sunday morning. As Earth passes through the tail of Comet Halley, much of the U.S. will be able to see the meteor shower. Astronomers predict about 25 meteors per hour. There is no general part of the sky to look in; the meteors should be visible all across the night sky. Skies in Mid-Missouri will be mostly clear, allowing nearly ideal viewing conditions.
