Mizzou Mourns Two Dead on Break
The University of Missouri is mourning the loss of two students over the holiday break.On New Years Eve, 20-year-old Michael Heney, of Chesterfield, fell on a porch in Edwardsville, Illinois. The Madison County coroner told ABC 17 News Tuesday he either slipped on ice or could have experience a medical emergency. His friends tried to get medical help at a nearby clinic that was closed. Heney died at a local hospital. The case is still under investigation.Heney was a brother in the MU chapter of Pi Kappa Phi.18-year-old Cole Patrick was killed when the truck he was riding in crashed head-on into a tree near St. Joseph on December 28, according to our partners at the St. Joseph News-Press. He was one of three passengers. The truck’s driver, 17-year-old Dylan S. Pierce, of DeKalb, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for driving while intoxicated at the time of the crash.According to social media reports, Patrick was a brother in the Delta Upsilon fraternity at the University of Missouri.
