Jail Death Under Investigation

***UPDATE 11:30 A.M.***The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control has concluded their investigation into the death of a Miller County inmate.Sergeant Erik Eidson told ABC 17 News that investigators consider 22-year-old James Jensen’s death a suicide.***ORIGINAL STORY***An investigation is underway after the death of an inmate at the Miller County Jail.The Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control is now investigating the death of James Jensen, 22, from Eldon.Jensen was found hanging in his jail cell on Monday. He was taken to University Hospital in Columbia where he later died.The Boone County medical examiner determined the cause of death to be asphyxiation.
