Driver Shot on U.S. 63

A 31-year-old Columbia man says he doesn’t know why a car drove by him on U.S. 63 around 2 a.m. Saturday and fired several shots at him.The man, whose identity police have not released, suffered one non-life threatening gunshot wound and was treated and released from a hospital overnight.He said he was driving south on U.S. 63 just north of Discovery Parkway when another vehicle passed him and he heard a loud bang. That’s when he realized he had been shot and pulled to the side of the road.The suspect vehicle then turned around, came back north on U.S. 63, and fired several more shots at him as it drove by. The victim called Columbia police and met with officers at Broadway and Brickton Road.Police said Saturday morning the case was still under investigation.Stay with ABC 17 News and abc17news.com for updates as they become available.
