Cops: Ex-Con Pointed Gun at Man
***UPDATE THURSDAY 10:49 P.M.***At least one gunman is on the loose while Columbia police piece together two violent crimes. The first crime happened on Bonny Linn Drive when a man was shot in the leg.The second happened an hour later when the shooting victim’s brother, Jerry Goldman, held a gun to another man’s head on Fourth Street. Cops arrested Goldman for allegedly having four guns, cocaine, and crack. He was let out of prison in October for beating a man to death and was on parole and not allowed to have a gun.But before they picked up Goldman, officers responded to the gunfire on Bonny Linn Drive.Bullets shattered the silence Wednesday night as family said the suspects kicked in the front door of the home and started shooting. The victim tried to close the door and was hit.Police also said someone inside the home was firing back at the suspects. When cops got to the scene no one was there, but they later found the victim at the hospital. Currently he’s not cooperating, but ABC 17 News found out his brother was upset over the crime. Now he is behind bars and police are trying to figure out what happened. “After midnight from a victim, Mr. Goldman allegedly pulled a weapon, pointed it at a victim and threatened to kill him,” said Latisha Stroer with the Columbia Police Department.Just over an hour after the shooting, Goldman was allegedly high on drugs and held a gun to another man’s head. At this point it doesn’t look like he was ever at Bonny Linn Drive, but may have been angry about the crime. When police got to the scene on Fourth Street, Goldman started running from his car. Cops were able to get him in custody and found cocaine in his pocket and several guns in his car, including one that is stolen.Goldman is currently behind bars on a $200,000 dollar bond. Because police are not getting information from the man shot on Bonny Linn Drive, they have no suspect description for that crime.***UPDATE 6:08 P.M.***Sources confirm that Goldman is related to the victim in a shooting Wednesday night on Bonny Linn Drive in northeast Columbia.
