Burglaries Remain Steady

Burglaries remain steady for a second year in Columbia.On Tuesday, the Columbia Police Department released their final tally of burglary calls. Officers responded to more than 780 burglary calls in 2012.The report shows much higher numbers over the past two years, with burglaries hovering just below 800.However, police did see a slight drop over the latest winter break. Although police say thieves did not target one spot over break, the most concentrated areas are neighborhoods by Cosmo Park and student housing off of College Avenue.
