According to FBSchedules.com, Purdue athletic director Morgan Burke has confirmed Missouri and Purdue will play a home-and-home football series starting in 2017. The first game in the series will take place at Faurot Field in Columbia. The Tigers will travel to West Lafayette to play the Boilermakers in 2018. Burke said both contests will take place in early September as part of each teams non-conference schedule. Purdue and Missouri have met eight times before, the last game coming in the 1980 Liberty Bowl in Memphis — a game the Boilermakers won game 28-25 to extend their lead in the overall series to 6-2.News of the Purdue-Missouri series was first reported on Twitter Friday by Mike Carmin of the Lafayette (Ind.) Journal and Courier. Carmin also reported that Purdue is close to signing a home-and-home series with the Nevada Wolf Pack.This is the second home-and-home non-conference series Mizzou has set up for the 2017-2018 seasons. Wyoming will visit Columbia in 2017 and the Tigers will visit the Cowboys in 2018.
