1/21: A Frigid Start

Arctic air will settle over Mid-Missouri Monday through Tuesday giving us the coldest temperatures yet this season. Lows will drop into the lower teens by early Monday morning as northwesterly winds increase to 15 mph, bringing wind chill reading down to 2 below zero. Temperatures will stay very cold all day, only reaching near 20 for highs as northwesterly winds of 15 mph gust to 25 mph at times. It will feel like 2 to 8 degrees due to the wind Monday afternoon. Temperatures will fall to 6-10 degrees overnight Monday with diminishing wind and increasing clouds which could produce some snow flurries through early Tuesday. High temperatures Tuesday will stay in the 20s before climbing into the 30s Wednesday ahead of the next storm system.
