RECALL ROUNDUP: Ground black pepper, rechargeable lights and Toyota vehicles recalled
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Baraka ground black pepper
A Michigan-based company has recalled its ground black pepper due to potential salmonella contamination.
Baraka has recalled its 7-oz. containers of ground black pepper sold at retail stores nationwide.
The company says it issued the recall after a routine surveillance sample.
The recalled containers have a UPC code of 822514 26626 6 and have a "best before" date of January 2026 on the back of the product.
The Food and Drug Administration says no illnesses have been reported.
Anyone who has this recalled product is urged to throw it away or return it to the store for a full refund.
Good Earth rechargeable integrated lights
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled over 1.2 million Good Earth rechargeable integrated lights.
Regulators say the light's battery can overheat and pose the risk of a fire.
The CPSC says one person has died in result of a fire and there have been nine reports of the lights overheating and six of those fires were reported.
The recalled lights were sold in packages of one or two units nationwide from October 2017 to January 2024 at Lowe's, Ace Hardware, Menards, online on Amazon and more.
Users should stop using the lights immediately and contact Good Earth Lighting for a free replacement light.
Toyota and Lexus vehicles
Toyota has recalled over 100,000 Tundra pick-up trucks and over 35,000 Lexus vehicles.
The automaker says it issued the recalled to fix a problem that could cause the vehicle's engines to lose power while driving. It also says debris may have been left inside the vehicle's engines during manufacturing, which could lead to other issues.
Toyota says the recall only applies to regular gas-powered versions of 2022-2023 Tundra pick-ups and Lexus LX 600 vehicles.
The company says it is unsure yet how it will fix the issue but will notify owners by letter at the end of July.
