RECALL ROUNDUP: Federal regulators recall BlendJet 2 blenders, kids’ play dress-up sets and fish fillets
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled 4.8 million BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders.
Federal regulators issued the recall of the blenders due to them possibly overhearing and catching fire.
The blender's blades can break off, posing a fire risk and deep-cut hazards to users.
Federal regulators have received 49 reports of minor burns and one report of a laceration injury.
The affected blenders were sold nationwide at Costco, Walmart and Target and online at BlendJet.com from October 2020 through November of this year.
Safety experts advise consumers to stop using the blenders immediately and contact BlendJet for a free refund.
"Consumers put their trust in our company when they choose to make our blender products part of their healthy lifestyles," the company said in a statement. "That is why we have coordinated with the CPSC to launch this free base replacement program that will ensure the BlendJet 2 performs as our company and our customers expect. BlendJet remains committed to high quality and safety standards so that our millions of customers around the world can confidently rely on BlendJet products for years to come."
Litti Pritti Dress-up Play-sets and Pretex Slime Eggs
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about 205,000 units of Litti City and Litti Pritti Dress-up Play-sets.
Regulators say the company's dress-up play-sets and slime eggs contain unsafe levels of chemicals used to make plastics more durable.
CPSC also reports the handbag play-set and teacher handbag dress-up and slime eggs contain levels of lead that exceed the federal lead content ban.
The affected units were sold online on Amazon and Walmart from July 2012 through April 2023.
Consumers should throw the product away or contact the company for a refund.
Whole Foods pollock and cod fillets
Whole Foods beer battered pollock and cod fillets have been recalled due to an undeclared soy allergen.
The Food and Drug Administration reports the fillets were sold from Sept. 8 to Dec. 22, 2023.
The pollock fillets have a best-by date of March 7, 2025 and the cod fillets have a best-by date of either Feb. 22 or March 19, 2025.
The FDA says consumers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy should throw the fillets away and take the receipt to the store for a full refund.
