BBB warns against using a Columbia-based contractor; receives ‘F’ rating

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Better Business Bureau is warning people not to hire a Columbia-based contractor.

The BBB reports 'MO State Construction LLC' has earned an 'F' rating from the BBB.

That's the lowest possible rating that can be given.

According to the BBB, owner Blake Mahoney has left several construction projects unfinished after taking thousands of dollars in payments.

“Abandoning your customers is no way to do business,” said Michelle Gleba, BBB Columbia Regional Director. “This business needs to make things right with its customers.”

The Better Business Bureau says it has been unable to speak with Mahoney about how he plans to fix the problems.

According to the BBB, there are two default judgments entered against Mahoney and Mo State Construction LLC in 2020 totaling more than $70,000.
