COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A parking app used in Columbia experienced a security breach which resulted in some user information being accessed.

ParkMobile says the company experienced the breach due to an issue linked to a third-party software used.

An investigation into the problem has ended and the company says the issue has been fixed.

ParkMobile says the data leaked was basic user information such as phone numbers, emails, and license plate numbers.

The company says out of an abundance of caution users are able to change their passwords under the settings section.
