The Sturgeon R-V School District Superintendent says it has notified the Boone County Health Department about students sick with E. Coli. Superintendent Shawn Schultz told ABC 17 News Tuesday it’s had three cases of E. Coli. Schultz says the first case happened before school started and the other two happened after the school year started.

Chris Koster picked up another endorsement usually reserved for Republican candidates. A Mid-Missouri man is due in court later in September for drug charges. Michael Waters, Jr. is accused of having meth, heroin and oxycodone near a school. The East Central Drug Task Force arrested the 33-year-old after serving a search warrant on West Street in Mexico on September 2. Waters faces four felony charges.

Beagle Freedom Project, an animal activist group, is using a recent study to highlight the University of Missouri’s alleged sunshine law violations.
