The Columbia City Council approved a multimillion dollar trail that supporters hope improves safety. The council voted 6-1 to build the $2.3 million Shepard-Rollins trail. A Holt Summit fire truck was struck on Highway 54 in the westbound lane on Monday evening. The fire truck had its emergency lights on and was working another accident when another vehicle hit the side of the truck. There were no injuries and damage was minor to the fire truck.
