Dispensary says they’ve received a warm welcome after opening in Moberly

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The CEO of COCO Dispensaries Brooke Foster said that the company has three dispensaries as well as one manufacturing license, all located in north Missouri.

COCO Dispensaries location in Moberly just opened on Nov. 24.

Foster said the response she's seen in the community has been overwhelmingly positive. She said one customer was brought to tears after their products helped treat the customers son, who dealt with hundreds of seizures a day.

The state of Missouri has given out 60 cultivation licenses, 86 infused product manufacturing licenses and 192 dispensary licenses.

Per Article XIV of the Missouri Constitution, the right to access medical cannabis “allows patients with qualifying medical conditions the right to discuss freely with their physicians the possible benefits of medical marijuana use, the right of their physicians to provide professional advice concerning the same, and the right to use medical marijuana for treatment under the supervision of a physician.”

Qualifying medical conditions include cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, a chronic medical condition usually treated with prescription medication and terminal illnesses among others.

COCO currently offers four strains of marijuana, and hopes to get other products such as edibles and vapes on the shelves by the end of the year.

accounts executive Anthony Loffredo said the benefits of medical marijuana are vast.

Loffredo said CBD and CBG products can be helpful in treating anxiety, depression and even inflammation.
