COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

MU Health Care is set to launch the service Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon and plan on offering the shots every Saturday through October 31st.

The service will be held just east of the South Providence Medical Park located at 551 E. Southampton Drive in Columbia.

Anyone older than six months can get the shot. MU is asking patients to wear masks, loose clothing, and short sleeves.

Those looking to get the shot will first be screened for COVID-19 symptoms, before getting the shot in their vehicle.

MU will also offer free flu shots to any child enrolled in Columbia Public Schools.

Patients who have established care with an MU Health Care primary care doctor can also make an appointment to receive a flu shot

“The drive-thru vaccination clinic is a new option for us to provide safe and convenient flu shots during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Christelle Ilboudo, MD, medical director for infection control and prevention at MU Health Care. “Vaccinations not only protect the person getting the shot, but also limit the spread of the illness.”
