Flood Warning issued August 16 at 5:21AM CDT until August 16 at 12:00PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…Portions of central, south central, and southwest
Missouri, including the following counties, in central Missouri,
Pulaski. In south central Missouri, Howell and Texas. In southwest
Missouri, Douglas, Laclede and Wright.

* WHEN…Until noon CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 521 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated that between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
– This includes the following low water crossings…
Elk Creek at Highway Z, North Fork River at Highway EE, Big
Piney River at Cleveland Road, North Fork River at County
Road 278, Little Piney River at Union Road, Wolf Creek at
Highway AB and Beaver Creek at Crewes Ford Road.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Fort Leonard Wood, West Plains, Waynesville, Mountain Grove,
Willow Springs, Houston, St. Robert, Cabool, Richland,
Mansfield, Crocker, Norwood, Hartville, Morgan, Dawson,
Pomona, Huggins, Plato, Twin Bridges, Graff, Bendavis, Manes,
Lynchburg, Success, Roby, Competition, Bucyrus, Falcon,
Hazelton, Simmons, Elk Creek, Dry Knob, Solo, Grovespring,
Odin, Laquey, Ozark Springs, Devil’s Elbow and Siloam
Springs.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
