Woman injured as SUV crashes into Massachusetts restaurant

    SUTTON, Massachussets (WCVB) — A Massachusetts restaurant is damaged after an SUV crashed through the front door of the Sutton eatery and left a woman injured.

The crash at Schultzy’s Place on Boston Road happened at about 2 p.m. Sunday.

Photos and video from the scene at Heritage Plaza showed a Jeep Grand Cherokee with heavy front-end damage. The front doors of the restaurant appeared to be completely broken as a result of the collision.

A woman became trapped under a table as a result of the crash and was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester to be treated for her injuries. There has been no update on her condition.

In a Facebook post, the Sutton Police Department did not report any major injuries among the customers or staff who were inside the restaurant at the time of the crash.

According to a WCVB photographer who captured video at the scene, the driver of the Jeep did not appear to be injured in the crash.

Sutton police said the driver of the Jeep has been cited.

The cause of the crash has not been reported at this time.

The town’s building inspector and the property owner will evaluate the damage to see if any other businesses at Heritage Plaza may be affected by the crash, according to police.
