Two men arrested in connection with Jan 6 riot

CHELSEA, Massachusetts (WCVB) — The FBI’s Boston Division arrested two Massachusetts men Wednesday in connection with the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
Noah Bacon, 28, of Somerville, was arrested on charges of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without authority, entering or remaining in the gallery of either house of congress, disorderly conduct in a capitol building, violent entry and disorderly conduct on capitol grounds, obstruction of justice and congress.
Chase Kevin Allen, of Seekonk, was arrested on charges of destruction or injury to buildings or property in special maritime and territorial jurisdiction and an act of physical violence on grounds.
Allen, in an interview with WPRI Wednesday night, said he was a documentarian. “I just went there to document, and one thing lead to another, and the next thing you know, the FBI’s at my door.”
The criminal complaint indicates that Bacon was originally identified by a witness who recognized him in a magazine reporter’s video of the riot. Investigators later found his own on other videos, including CSPAN video from inside the Senate Chamber.
Bacon’s father told WCVB Wednesday night that he was, “a proud combat Vet and I do not see January 6th as anything patriotic. I think it’s embarrassing.” He added that his son’s political beliefs are entirely contrary to the family’s.
Investigators also received a tip that identified Allen and led them to his YouTube Channel, where the FBI found video of him in clothing that matched video taken outside the Capitol, where a press area was stormed and broadcasting equipment destroyed.
The arrests of Bacon and Allen bring to ten the total number of arrests by the FBI’s Boston Division in connection with the riot.
