Deputies in Callaway County have arrested a man and woman on suspicion of burglarizing a home east of Auxvasse on Independence Day. A house alarm alerted authorities to the burglary at the home on Highway B; when deputies arrived, they reported seeing Dara Lander, 24, and Timothy Bodimer, 47, taking things out of the house.

Governor Jay Nixon has turned down a bill that would allow Missouri doctors to charge Medicaid patients fees for missing appointments without notice. Charles Thompson has been sentenced to 20 years in prison following convictions for burglary and a hit-and-run crash. A judge sentenced Thomson to 15 years for the 2015 burglary during which Johnny Evans was shot and killed. Thompson had been charged with murder and armed robbery in that case, but was acquitted of those charges.
