COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) Columbia/Boone County Public Health & Human Services says right now there are no plans to reinstate a health order despite new masking guidelines from the CDC. In a group call on Tuesday, the CDC said vaccinated people in some parts of the country should again start wearing masks indoors in public areas.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) Flooding along the Missouri River in July has caused Missouri State Parks to cancel the 2021 Bicentennial Katy Trail Ride set for Aug. 7. Flooding has damaged approximately 100 miles of Katy Trail State Park. Washouts, bridge damage, downed trees, debris, silt accumulation and inconsistent trail surfacing have damaged the trail.

Officers shot and killed Clay Willingham of Moberly on June 7 during a stop for expired registration on Truman Boulevard near the Capital Mall. The Jefferson City Police Department said at the time that Willingham showed a rifle but did not listen to the officers’ commands to drop the rifle.

Officers were called at about 11 a.m. Tuesday to Ellis Porter Riverside Park on a report of a man who had exposed himself to a child in the women’s bathroom, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release. The caller told police the man left the park in a black SUV.
