US and Mexico will boost deportation flights and enforcement to crack down on illegal migration

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says teamwork between the U.S. and Mexico to crack down on illegal migration is paying off. White House national security spokesman John Kirby said Tuesday the U.S. and Mexico will increase enforcement measures to prevent major modes of transportation from being used to facilitate illegal migration and increase the number of repatriation flights to return migrants to their home countries. The new steps President Joe Biden and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador are putting in place include tougher enforcement measures on railways, on buses and in airports. Biden is considering executive action that would further crack down on the number of migrants arriving at the border.
