Woman’s ‘illegal buying spree’ armed killer of 3 Minnesota first responders, prosecutor says

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Federal authorities say a woman has been charged with illegally buying guns used in the killings of three Minnesota first responders in a standoff at a home in the Minneapolis suburb of Burnsville. Federal prosecutors say 35-year-old Ashley Anne Drydahl, of Burnsville, conspired with shooter Shannon Gooden to illegally get him guns even though she knew he was a convicted felon. She pleaded not guilty at her first appearance in federal court on Thursday, but was allowed to remain free without bail. Officers Paul Elmstrand and Matthew Ruge and firefighter-paramedic Adam Finseth were slain during the Feb. 18 standoff before Gooden killed himself. Seven children were home at the time.
