US and India reaffirm security ties as their top diplomats and defense officials hold talks

NEW DELHI (AP) — The top diplomats and defense chiefs from India and the United States have met in New Delhi to discuss security issues in the Indo-Pacific, China and the Israel-Hamas war. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the U.S. and India are continuing to deepen their partnership and collaboration in emerging technologies, defense and diplomacy to create an Indo-Pacific region that’s free and prosperous. Blinken said he also discussed a diplomatic dispute that erupted when Canada alleged that India was involved in the assassination of a Sikh separatist in Canada. India has rejected the accusation.
