6 tips for cutting costs on back-to-school shopping

An estimated $135 billion will be spent on back-to-school and back-to-college shopping in 2023, according to the National Retail Federation, representing the second-largest spending period of the year, behind only the holidays. But there are ways to help bring down some of those costs. Tools that can help include sales tax holidays, student discounts and bulk purchases, as well as credit card sign-up bonuses, buy-nothing groups, and cash-back apps or websites.
