Russian helicopter crashes in Siberia, killing 4 people on board and injuring 10

MOSCOW (AP) — Russian emergency officials say a helicopter has crashed in Siberia, killing four and injuring 10 of those on board. The officials said the Mi-8 helicopter caught fire as it was landing in southern Siberia’s Altai Republic and brushed against a power line on Thursday. The Altai branch of the Russian Emergency Ministry released a photo showing the chopper’s wreckage. Officials revised the death and injury tolls after learning that two people from the helicopter went to a hospital on their own. Russian state news agency RIA Novosti cited Russia’s civilian aviation regulator as saying the helicopter belonged to a private company and was carrying a group of tourists.
