Flood Warning issued March 7 at 4:48PM CST until March 8 at 6:00AM CDT by NWS Springfield MO

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…Portions of central, east central, and south central
Missouri, including the following counties, in central Missouri,
Pulaski. In east central Missouri, Phelps. In south central
Missouri, Texas.

* WHEN…Until 600 AM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 448 PM CST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area.
– This includes the following streams and drainages…
Big Piney River, Carr Branch, Bald Ridge Creek, Anderson
Creek, Big Paddy Creek, Little Paddy Creek, Little Bald Ridge
Creek and Roubidoux Creek.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Hazelton.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
