Tipton man seriously injury in Cooper County ATV crash, two arrested

COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Tipton man was seriously hurt after a crash Saturday night in Cooper County and he and another man were later arrested, according to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash happened on Tuttle Rd. in the eastbound lane around 10:45 p.m. Saturday. Grant Petree, 45, of Tipton was driving a 2023 Honda ATV with passenger Timothy Brink, 30, of Tipton when Petree failed to navigate and curve, traveled off the right side of the road and flipped over.

The report states Petree was airlifted to University Hospital with serious injuries. Brink suffered from moderate injuries and was taken to University Hospital by a Cooper County ambulance.

Petree was later arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated leading to physical injury and careless and imprudent driving, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol arrest report. Brink was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, according to another arrest report from the highway patrol.

Both men were released from police custody, according to the arrest reports. The crash report states neither men were wearing a helmet.
