Power restored in east-central Columbia

UPDATE: Columbia Water & Light restored power just before 8 p.m. Thursday night.

Department spokesperson Lissie Wade said a circuit at Locust Street and Waugh Street went down and caused the outage. Technicians cleaned the circuit, and restored power around 7:50 p.m.

The city said it believes weather caused the circuit to go down.

ORIGINAL: Columbia Water & Light reports 1,900 customers without power Thursday evening.

The department tweeted about the outages at 6:45 p.m. and said crews are working to restore power.

Check on current outages with the city’s outage map. The city of Columbia tells us the power outage appears to be weather related.

The department asks residents to call 573-875-2555 to report an outage.
