Two arrested after Sunrise Beach drug bust
Two people were arrested and charged Monday after the U.S. Postal Service delivered drugs to their home in Sunrise Beach.
Rachel M. Tapp and Danny R. Ramsey had Xanax pills and other drugs delivered to three different homes in Sunrise Beach since January, according to a probable causes statement. USPS delivered one of the packages on Monday. The person who retrieved the package told police that Ramsey asked him to pick up the package and check for any tracking devices.
Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers searched three different locations where the packages were supposed to be delivered to Ramsey and Tapp. Tapp was at the location on Silver Maple Drive and told police she and Ramsey ordered the drugs from the “dark web,” court documents said.
Officers also found a large quantity of GHB, LSD and marijuana in the homes. Tapp and Ramsey were charged with first-degree drug trafficking and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
The Lake Area Drug Task Force, Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Homeland Security and USPS assisted in the investigation.
Tapp and Ramsey are being held in the Camden County Jail. Tapp has a $50,000 cash only bond, and Ramsey has a $100,000 cash only bond.
