First 70 degree day of 2019 is possible into Wednesday before more rain arrives

TONIGHT: Mostly clear skies will let us cool off again tonight. Lows will bottom out in the mid 30s , which is not as cold as what we saw early this morning. Winds make their initial shift out of the southwest leading to an eventual warm up by Wednesday.

WEDNESDAY: Another cool start to the day will end up leading to a warm afternoon. With winds continuing to turn out of the southwest highs will climb into the upper 60s to low 70s under partly sunny skies. Winds will be breezy at times gusting to 25 mph. If we touch 70, this will be the warmest day since October 30.

EXTENDED: That beautiful weather will only be around for the afternoon, as our next chance of rain is moving in late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. A cold front moves through the region initially, but we’ll be tracking multiple opportunities for rain through Saturday. Light showers are possible through Thursday and continuing into Friday. A few rumbles of thunder can be expected Friday with the heaviest rain rates falling north of I-70, along the boundary. With swollen waterways already in place, flooding could become an issue this weekend. Through Saturday, 1-2″ of rainfall is possible, with the highest amounts north of I-70.
