State representative hurt in mid-Missouri crash

A state representative is in serious condition after a car crash in mid-Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Rep. Rebecca Roeber crashed head-on with another driver Monday just after noon. The crash report said Roeber crossed the center line on Highway 50 West in the town of Syracuse and hit Richard Clark head-on.

Syracuse is in Morgan County, near the Lake of the Ozarks.

University Hospital officials on Monday night said Roeber was in serious condition.

Roeber is a Republican representative from Lee’s Summit, a suburb of Kansas City. She is serving her third term in the House.

Clark, according to the crash report, suffered minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
