Man captured after fleeing from police

A man is in police custody after fleeing on foot Friday night.

Moberly police say they attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 800 block of St. Charles Street, but the driver got out of the car and began running away.

Joshua Carter was then captured near Grimes Street and Madison Avenue.

Officers found approximately three grams of methamphetamine and two syringes in his car.

Carter was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful drug paraphernalia and felony resisting arrest.

Carter is in custody at the Randolph County Jail and being held for a $20,000 cash only bond.
