Showers through Midnight, Tracking thunderstorm chances for Sunday

TONIGHT: Widespread rain showers will continue to build into the region and last through midnight. Mid-MO looks to dry out for much of the overnight hours. Temperatures will be mild overnight… in the upper 40s and low 50s .

SUNDAY: We will see mostly dry conditions early on tomorrow morning, followed by increasing showers and storms, especially along and east of HWY 63 after 12: 00pm . There’s a chance we could see some strong to severe thunderstorms focused in our southeastern counties by early tomorrow afternoon (between 2-5pm ). The main threats will be hail and strong wind, even a slight chance of an isolated tornado. You’ll want to keep an eye to sky tomorrow if you have outdoor plans– Especially for folks along and east of HWY 54.

EXTENDED: Following Sunday’s cold front, temperatures kick back into the low 50s for highs and nights will dip back to freezing. We’re tracking another warmup into midweek with another cold front pushing through Thursday, bringing another shot at storms to close out our work week.
