Unsettled weather looming this weekend

SATURDAY: The upper-level ridge in place responsible for the beautiful weather yesterday will be in the process of breaking down as we head throughout the day. It will hold on long enough to give us one last mostly dry day. Winds out of the south becoming breezy at times will help temperatures get back into the upper 50s and low 60s in spite of clouds moving in. Showers will begin to move in toward this evening. This will be the first of two rounds we’ll be tracking as this low pressure system moves through.

TONIGHT: With showers likely ongoing this evening, temperatures will only drop into the mid to upper 40s overnight, with steady southeast winds and abundant cloud cover helping things out. Showers look to thin out a bit in coverage behind the initial shield of rain, but keeping the umbrella handy would be a good idea.

EXTENDED: Showers will pick back up in coverage tomorrow as this system moves through a cold front. We could hear a couple rumbles of thunder as this front pushes through, and depending on timing, even an outside severe threat. These showers and storms look to move through by Sunday night. Behind this system, temperatures will cool down into the low 50s Monday and drop below freezing Monday night and possibly Tuesday night, so hold off planting anything this weekend. We get back to normal Wednesday with the help of sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60s. Unsettled weather returns as early as Wednesday night into Thursday.
