MU had a chance to win the game in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, after Brady Cook hit Dominic Lovett on a deep ball to get the Tigers in field goal range. However, kicker Harrison Mevis missed the 26-yard field goal to send the game into overtime.
Bryan Harsin's team knocked in a field goal at the start of OT, which put them up by three over head coach Eli Drinkwitz's group. When Mizzou had it's turn with the ball it did not go as planned. Running back Nathaniel Peat fumbled the ball in the end zone and it was then recovered by Auburn to end the game.
Offensively, both teams struggled in the second half, as no touchdowns were scored by either side. MU quarterback Brady Cook went 14-for-24 with 179 yards, and one interception. Once again, Lovett was his top target. The sophomore finished with 102 yards on five receptions, including that difficult grab to put the Tigers within field goal range near the end of regulation.
Five-star wide out Luther Burden was targeted just three times in the loss. He ended with no receptions and one punt return.

Both of Mizzou's touchdowns came on the ground on Saturday. Both Cook and running back Cody Schrader ran in scores, but it was not enough to top Auburn in the end.
The Tigers showed up big on defense. Florida transfer Ty'Ron Hopper led the team with 10 tackles, three of which were for a loss, and one sack. Seven players recorded four or more tackles in the loss, including Jayden Jernigan, Jaylon Carlies, Joseph Charleston, and more.

With the loss, Drinkwitz's group falls to 2-2 on the season.
