Three Columbia men facing drug charges

Three Columbia men are now charged after officers said they found nearly a pound of marijuana and stolen guns in the men’s possession.

Columbia police officers were called to an apartment at the 3100 block of Old Highway 63 on Sunday for a possible drug investigation. Police reports said the officer could smell marijuana coming from the apartment.

After entering the apartment, authorities say marijuana and a handgun were recovered. Allegedly, a bag of marijuana and a silver handgun were visible on a kitchen table. The officer said another gun was found near a chair.

Reportedly, only one of the men was renting the apartment on Old 63. A property manager with the apartment complex alleged to officers Zaquiel Houston was the only person leasing the apartment. Officers say David Kim and Brandon Sargent were both in the apartment at the time of their investigation.

All three man are facing counts of unlawful use of a firearm and delivery of a controlled substance.
