Firefighters battle large fire at Lake Ozark

One person was transported to a hospital after a fire at Southwood Shores Condominiums Saturday morning.

According to the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District, the first units at the scene reported “flames showing up and setting for attack.” They used a fire hydrant and a fire boat to fight the blaze.

The fire was contained to one building. One person was sent to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The Fire Protection District was assisted by the Osage Beach, Sunrise Beach, Rocky Mount, Moreau, Cole County, Jefferson City, Mid County and Gravois fire departments. A medic unit from Miller County also helped.

A Missouri state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
