Plane flips over on Moberly runway
A plane flipped over on a runway at Omar N. Bradley Airport Friday afternoon, and one person was unhurt in the incident.
The call originally came in just after 2 p.m. Friday, said Moberly Police Chief Troy Link.
Officials on scene said one person was traveling in a single engine piper plane from Nebraska to North Carolina. They stopped in Moberly for fuel and landed safely.
A news release sent later by the city of Moberly said a 24-year-old man from Newman, Georgia was the pilot.
When the man was taxiing the plane on the runway,
A gust of wind flipped the plane over when the pilot was taxiing off the runway, according to the release. The airport was expected to reopen the runway Friday evening.
